Meet the Team
Because your pet’s care is important, we’ve made sure to build a team of kind, gentle professionals who find joy in bringing comfort and care to our client’s cats and dogs.
The concept and drive behind this unique business is a long-standing passion and vision of Gretchen’s that has evolved over 40 years as an animal lover having personally experienced poor-quality product purchases for her own pets.
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician during the 1990’s, Gretchen witnessed far too many pets that were accidentally harmed by the products their well-meaning owners provided for them.
Combine this with a desire to help curtail the waste and pollution that is destroying our world, and knowing what pet-parents expect for exceptional service in the local area, and you can easily see how Bow Wow Meow Boutique was born. Gretchen is also a proud US Air Force Veteran and offers all Veterans a 20% discount every day.
Angie Jones, was born an animal lover, but goes by many titles presently. A native of Irvington, and graduate of Howe, Ms. Jones has been working with pets professionally since 1996. Ms. Jones was destined to work with pets. Her hobbies as a child included 4H and AKC showmanship, Horse riding, and Reptile collecting.
Her college career took her in a different direction for a few years. After pursuing a Human Biology degree at Indiana State University, Ms. Jones felt the calling back to animals so she switched to Purdue University animal behavior studies classes. Angie has professionally worked in Animal Services since 1996.
She is a proud mother to Austin and Ty and is a well-known local artist, philanthropist and community activist. Angies current menagerie of pets include a blue and gold macaw; Oscar, Border collie mixes; Tuxey, Bowie, and Lewie, and a slew of koi and precious call ducks to round out her furry, feathered, scaled flock.
Cameron’s love of dogs started at an early age when she would visit her aunt in Alabama who had Standard Poodles with fancy haircuts. The love blossomed with visits to family with coon hounds and terrier farm dogs that just loved to play, and finally, family pets that were constant companions. Venturing into the animal world started with a first job in a veterinary clinic, cleaning kennels and assisting the doctor and in-house groomer as needed. Over the years, working in emergency animal hospitals, shelters, doing behavior work with shelter dogs, working with goats, caring for farm animals, grooming in a shop as well as mobile since 2011, and ongoing education of canine nutrition makes Cameron an all-around holistic resource for pets. Trained in Pet CPR and First Aid, know that your pets are in great hands as she strives to make even the most scared animal relax for their grooming experience. Bonus points if you want a “Town and Country” on your poodle! Look for canine massage services to be added for even more comfort for your pet. *will also groom some cats*
We are excited to introduce you to our newest full-time groomer, Grace! She’s a 2019 graduate of the Grooming School of Indiana and has moved back to Indianapolis from Lafayette, where she had been working at Klondike Kennels. Grace is a Herron High School graduate and studied at Purdue for a few years before deciding she wanted to focus on her love of animals and use her creativity caring for them as a professional pet stylist. She grooms and loves all breeds, canine AND feline, but finds spending quality time with senior pets even more rewarding because she knows she is making them feel better with their special spa sessions. Once Grace gets settled in her new position and new housing, she hopes to be able to foster more senior pets in need as well. In her spare time she enjoys knitting, playing video games, and hanging out with Rosco, a 13 year old classic tabby cat she rescued about a year ago.
Cammaria "Cammy" Nixon
Cammy is in her early 20’s and has loved animals for as long as she can remember. She went to college for a year after graduating high school in Greenwood. During that year in college her interest in grooming was piqued due to two older cousins that were established in the profession. Cammy has been grooming for 3 years now and loves every minute of it. Outside of work she loves on her rescue pup, Graves, and her multitude of fish. In her free time, she loves to curl up with a good book and her pup.
Kourtney started helping as a part time retail and grooming assistant at Bow Wow Meow Boutique in July, 2019. She is a 2017 graduate of Southport High School and is now pursuing an undergrad degree at the University of Indianapolis in Music Education. When Kourtney isn’t practicing her flute or studying, she enjoys spoiling her two pups, Freedom and Hope.
Part-Time Staff - Social Media
Gabby has been helping her Mom navigate social media since she was allowed to have a Facebook page when she turned 13 years old, 8 years ago. She officially went on the payroll in early 2020 because she was saving us a lot of time and deserved to be rewarded for her creativity, organization skills, and attention to details. When she's not attending classes or studying at ISU, she's most likely busy planning some sort of function for her sorority, teaching middle school youth at her church, vlogging, blogging, posting or playing with her cats; Adrienne and Rocky.
